We're Goin' to the Ship....Oh yeah Oh yeah!

So, since my last blog post, I have found out the sex of my baby, closed on my new house in Olathe, and began the moving process. But that isn't what this blog is about! Can you guess what this would be about???

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK, KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Everyone said KU couldn't beat UNC. But we did. Everyone said, you already beat OSU, but no way can you do it again, especially if they have Sullinger. So how did we do it?

Withey made Sullinger look like a punk. That's how.

So now I sit and wait for these next 8 hours to pass rapidly so I can get home and get ready to cheer my Hawks onto another NCAA Title!!!!!!

For all of you wondering, I promise to do a house/baby post soon!

Feelin' the Flutters!

So, while I do not appreciate people who go obsessively insane on their facebook pages about how they are expecting or about their newborn, I feel the blog world is a different story, because you are only reading it if you want to! I have yet to take a belly picture yet. I may take the first one at 20 weeks when my mom comes to visit! But, I did steal this Q&A from a friend's blog and thought it might be fun!

How far along: 18 weeks

Size of Baby Brown: 5 1/2 inches. Doesn't seem too big, but look at a ruler! It's actually pretty mind-blowing.

Fruit/vegetable comparison (according to Baby Center):Bell Pepper/My hand

Total weight gain: 0 lbs

Sleep: Alright. Migraines wake me up and I can't sleep on my stomach all night like I used to!

Movement: I can feel the flutters, it feels more like pressure behind my belly button, but we will call it flutters!

Unglamorous body changes:The baby bump is coming, wish it would come faster so people would assume I'm pregnant, not fat! I try to keep pretty lathered up with Cocoa Butter.

Maternity Clothes?  Just work pants, they are oh so comfy.

Showing: Yep. I can feel my uterus right behind my belly button!

Food cravings: None

What I miss: Nothing really. My doc said I could have 200mg of caffeine a day, which is the equivalent of 5 diet cokes. Since I'm good with one a day, I haven't had to change much!

Anything making you queasy: Raw meat! Raw meat! Raw meat! I have been having more migraines than nausea, which I heard means it's a girl. Time will tell!

Strange experiences: Not yet. I'm sure I will soon encounter that inappropriate person who wants to touch my stomach....

Milestones: Feeling the baby move. Only I can feel now, but in a few weeks Jordan and those authorized to touch me may be able to feel also!

Best moment this week:Tulsa has a JBF franchise. This means "Just Between Friends" and it is one of the largest consignment sales for all things baby in the country. I went on Saturday. Let me tell you....moms are crazy. One woman blocked the entire movie section until she grabbed up every VeggieTales DVD. Another woman decided she needed to haul 4 pack and plays off to the side while she decided which one she wanted. It was a freaking mad house. But, I made out like a bandit. I paid $275 for over $800 worth of baby things! Loading the car was a puzzle, and some of the fellow shoppers were appalled by my language while I was packing up the car, but I got it all home!

Looking forward to: March 22nd! The day we find out if it's a little miss or a little sir that I'm carrying.

Big Changes Ahead

And by "Big" I really mean HUGE.

Let me catch you up on life for us the past 2 months....

Jordan was informed he is being transferred to the Ernst and Young office in Kansas City. Can I get a Hallelujah? Don't get me wrong, Jordan and I have made a great life for ourselves down here in Oklahoma. But let's be honest....a girl needs her mom. Especially when that said girl has a baby on the way. When I read that positive pregnancy test on December 3rd, I looked at Jordan and simply said, "get me back to Kansas!" Oklahoma is great, and we have made a few very strong friends, but no where near the support system it would take to raise a baby when your husband is a CPA.

So while, yes, I am pregnant...a complete lack of symptoms traditionally linked to pregnancy, make it surreal to me. That, and the anxieties of moving, buying a house, and job searching, have all led to my pregnancy taking a back seat to changes happening now.

First on the list of things to do, buy a house. Jordan was smack dab in the middle of busy season and working 80 hour weeks, so I was left to my own devices...fine by me! This process required me to drive back to Kansas City 4 weekends in a row to meet with a realtor and view potential abodes for us.  And we finally found one! Located a convenient 3/4 mile from my mother's house, I will have babysitters available at the snap of my fingers! The downside to our house...the entire interior is painted a flesh color pink. Totally disgusting!

Next on the list, find a job! Now, Jordan had no stress when it came to this. He was good to go. Not me. Much to my surprise, I got two job interviews right out of the gate! Unfortunately, neither offered a schedule I wanted as a mom to be. However, I lucked out and a hospital offered me a PRN position with potential to go part time after maternity leave. Needless to say I snatched that job up and am now counting down the 7 weeks I have left with a full time job. BOOYAH.

So now that my major stressors are out of the way and Jordan's busy season is coming to a close, I am able to enjoy my pregnancy so much more! It is becoming more and more real to me. Especially since I graduated into maternity pants today and am feeling like a fat sack of fat. Although, I must say, the comfort factor is enough to keep me in these for the rest of my life.

2012...ai yi yi

Do you people realize that 1990 was 22 years ago??? I bet high school kids now don't even know who Topanga Lawrence is. I imagine that if the LFO song "Summer Girls" was on the radio at a high school, those poor students would be lost. "Michael J. Fox was Alex P. Keaton..."

My brain is somewhat fried after being back at work after an 10 day vacation. Don't worry, I am breaking up my work with frequent breaks that involve Pinterest and Solitaire. Much to my surprise, being home that long made me miss Oklahoma. Yes, I just said that. The past year has changed me a lot, and I have grown to love errr, like my life here in Owasso, OK (even though I have yet to find Garth Brooks or Hanson).

Anyway...it's not hard to believe another year has flown by! I spent an entire year away from my friends and family and managed to survive. I must admit, I am not sad to see 2011 go. It was by far one of the hardest years of my life. We lost the rock to our family, my Grandpa Ernie. But, I am optimistic about the future because I know that 2012 has such incredible things in store for myself, my friends, and my family.....but you all will have to wait and find out what those things are!

Favorite memories of 2011-
In January I went to Chicago to visit Dana. Wow, that seems like FOREVER ago. I vowed to myself to never return there in the winter.

In March Jordan and I road tripped to Orlando for a family vacation with the Browns. 44 hours in a car together and I didn't push him out. Must be love.

In July we celebrated our 1 year anniversary, that wasn't too shabby.

As for 2012, I have learned to not set insane expectations for myself. My go to resolution the past 3 years has been to eat lettuce, no joke. Guess what, I have yet to eat lettuce without wanting to gag. Therefore, my goal for this year is to keep a positive attitude and continue being the person I am, because I'm pretty happy with who I'm turning out to be.

Baby Shower!

Hey there!

Last weekend I hosted my good friend Kathleen's baby shower with the help of a few other ladies. It turned out really well! Kathleen isn't a big fan of games, mostly because games at showers tend to focus on embarrassing the honoree. However! I decided to come up with a few games because I for one don't think staring at a bunch of baby crazy women for 2 hour sounds entertaining. I racked my brain to think of things Kathleen loves, and went from there.Kathleen loves trivia, music, and all things reality TV.

The first game we played was Name That Tune. I found 10 songs that had the word "baby" in the title. It was a blast! I recommended inter-generational teams because the young ladies didn't know The Rolling Stones and the older women weren't in touch with their Bieber Fever.

The second game was a match game. The guests had to match pictures of celebrity children with their parents. There were teams of two, so the team that won that game went head to head for the final question. The fastest one to name all 6 kids in the Brangelina crew won a People magazine!

Here are a few pictures from the party....

As you can see, everyone enjoyed the Match Game!

That's all for now. Peace out 6 followers.

Born Again Blogger

Hello 2 followers! Is that all I really got during my 10 month hiatus?

Anyway...after spending a weekend with Kelli and swapping DIY creations with my cousin Erin, I have decided to give this another shot. Kelli also supplied me with a new camera (apparently when you drop one from six feet in the air it doesn't take pictures anymore, I blame the Sand Bar). Annnnd,  as it just so happened, my husband is back at our Alma Mater this week recruiting for his company, which frees up my schedule to get crafty!

Alas, I am having issues installing my photo software onto my computer, so a post about my flawless, remarkable, errrr novice crafts will have to wait. So for now, here are some pictures of my lovely friends and family that I will often reference in this blog since they are my life!

Me and the hubs at Hogs Head in Harry Potter World enjoying some Butterbeer. By the way, Harry Potter is one of my many obsessions

These two gorgeous ladies I'm pictured with are Heather, my big sister, and Erin, my cousin.
                                                                    Me and Kelli!
This picture is of my dog, Chester, and myself on the edge of a cliff. We are quite adventurous. Ha! Yeah right! If you knew the rest of that campy story your would pee yourself laughing at how pathetic I am!

Well that's all for now! Stay tuned for craftiness once I get my camera figured out!
